- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1 tsp. basil leaves
- 3 c. (24 oz.) cottage cheese
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles, cooked and well drained
- 3/4 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Cook and stir ground beef, onion and garlic in large saucepan or Dutch oven until meat is brown and onion is tender.

2Add tomatoes; break up with a fork.

3Stir in tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons parsley flakes, the sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and the basil.

4Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.

5Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour, or until mixture is the consistency of spaghetti sauce.
