  • 8 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 c. finely chopped celery
  • 3/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce (Ragu)
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, cubed
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Gouda cheese
  • 1 (12 oz.) carton cream-style cottage cheese
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 12 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian herb seasoning

Directions

    In a large saucepan, cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.

    Drain and set aside.

    In a skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, celery, onion and garlic until meat is brown and vegetables are tender.

    Drain off fat from skillet.

    Stir in oregano, pepper and cream cheese.

    Cook and stir over low heat to melt cheese.

    Gradually add Cheddar and Gouda cheeses, stirring and heating until cheeses are nearly melted.

    Add tomato sauce and stir.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir together cottage cheese and egg.
