Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic juice
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 4 to 5 bay leaves
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • noodles
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese
  • 3 pkg. sliced Mozzarella
  • 1 can Parmesan

Directions

    Brown meat; add onion and saute until clear. Drain. Place in crock-pot or large boiler (I use crock-pot).

    Add salt, pepper, garlic juice, bay leaves, tomato paste and water. Cook on low (2 to 3 hours in pot) or all night or all day in crock-pot. Cook noodles in salted water with oil until done. Pat dry after cooking. Remove bay leaves. Stir in cottage cheese. In greased 9 x 13 pan, spoon a little sauce over bottom. Cover bottom with noodles. Spoon sauce completely over noodles; cover with Mozzarella. Continue layering until gone, last layer being sauce. Top with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes.
