Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 1 (64 oz.) can tomato juice
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 c. mushrooms, if desired
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. garlic and parsley salt
  • 1 Tbsp. celery salt
  • 1 diced bell pepper
  • 2 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Brown chuck and pour off excess fat.

    Place tomato juice and all seasoning in a slow cooker for 3 to 4 hours. Add meat and let simmer for rest of day, adding juice and skimming grease as needed.
