Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lb. ground round
  • 2 cans tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. tomato juice or puree
  • 1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms
  • 1 c. meat stock or bouillon
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 large bay leaf
  • salt to taste
  • 1 c. Jack cheese, diced
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan
  • 1 c. cottage cheese or 1 c. Mozzarella

Directions

    Saute meat, onion and garlic in oil.

    Add all other ingredients except cheese and let simmer until sauce is quite thick.

    Cook one (10 ounce) package lasagne noodles according to directions; drain. Mix cheeses together and layer noodles, meat sauce and cheeses in oblong baking dish.

    Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.

    Let stand 10 minutes before cutting it in squares to serve.
