Layer-Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

  • celery
  • green peppers
  • spring onions
  • 1 pkg. frozen English peas
  • 1 can water chestnuts, drained and sliced (optional)
  • 1 c. Kraft Miracle Whip
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 to 10 strips bacon, fried crisp and crumbled

Directions

    Use a 13 x 9-inch Pyrex dish.

    Shred lettuce at least 1/2 dish full.

    Layer each of the following:

    celery, green peppers, spring onions, peas and water chestnuts.

    Spread over top at least 1 cup Kraft Miracle Whip dressing, more if desired or you may use mayonnaise.

    Sprinkle 1 teaspoon sugar over Miracle Whip.

    Use enough Cheddar cheese (shredded) to cover dish or salad.

    Fry crisp, 8 to 10 strips bacon, fried crisp and crumbled.

    Sprinkle over cheese.

    Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
