Layered Skillet Dinner

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 4 c. shredded cabbage (about 1/2 head or so)
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 c. sliced potatoes, unpared (about 4 nice potatoes)
  • 2 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
  • 1 lb. ground beef, uncooked
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce

Directions

    Melt butter or margarine in a large skillet.

    Spread cabbage evenly over margarine.

    Sprinkle with onion and caraway seed. Arrange potato slices in skillet.

    Crumble beef in small pieces over potatoes.

    Pour tomato sauce over all.

    Cover skillet and cook on low heat for 30 to 35 minutes.

    Do not stir.

    If possible, use 10 or 12-inch skillet with lid.
