- 2 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Sift together 2 cups flour and powdered sugar.

2Cut in butter until mixture clings together.

3Press mixture into a 13 x 9-inch glass baking dish.

4Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.

5Beat together eggs, granulated sugar, lemon juice and baking powder.

6Stir into egg mixture.

7Pour over baked crust. Return to oven and bake at 350° for 25 minutes longer.

8Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar.

9Cool.

10Cut into bars.

11Makes 36 bars.
