- 1 pt. canned beef soup stock
- 1 lb. beef sirloin steak
- 1 clove garlic, halved
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- salt
- paprika
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 2 medium tomatoes, peeled and cut in wedges
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- salt
- hot, cooked noodles
Directions

1Boil canned beef stock, uncovered, at least 10 minutes before tasting or using; set aside.

2Rub meat with cut edge of garlic. Cut meat into 2 x 1/2-inch strips.

3Melt butter; add meat and brown quickly.

4Remove from heat; season meat with salt and paprika.

5Arrange onion and lemon slices over meat.

6Add 3/4 cup of the stock; cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes.

7Add tomato wedges; cover and simmer until tomatoes are hot, about 2 minutes. Remove meat and vegetables; keep warm.

8Discard lemon slices.
