- 1 lemon, sliced
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 c. flour, sifted
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. milk
- dash of pepper
Directions

5and molasses and bring to a boil. Make

6dumplings by mixing remaining ingredients together.
