  • 6 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 lemon

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar together.

    Add eggs and beat thoroughly.

    Add alternately the flour, baking powder and salt (mix together in small bowl).

    Fold in grated rind of lemon and nuts.

    Bake for 1 hour at 325°.
