- 3 c. sugar
- 3 c. plain flour
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 c. milk
- 5 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. lemon flavoring
Directions

1Start with cold oven.

2Cream the butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time; beat after each one.

3Add flour (2 cups), alternating with milk.

4Sift remaining flour with baking powder and salt; add to mixture, then add lemon flavoring.

5Pour into large tube pan.

6Put into cold oven; set temperature at 350°. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
