- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. lemon extract or 1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp. rum
- 3/4 c. boiling water
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions

1Mix sugar and cornstarch, add to boiling water.

2Stir constantly and bring to boil.

3Boil for 5 minutes.

4Add lemon extract or rum and butter.

5Stir until butter is melted.

6Cool and pour over bread pudding.
