Lemon Tea Bread

- 1/2 c. oleo
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Beat oleo until fluffy; add 1 cup sugar and beat with lemon peel.

2Blend in flour, salt and baking powder alternately with milk. Add nuts.

3Pour into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan, greased and bake about 1 hour at 350°.

4Remove from oven and poke holes over all with fork.

5Mix juice of 1 lemon and 1/4 cup sugar until dissolved.

6Pour over hot loaf and cool.
