  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Cream butter and 1 cup sugar.

    Add eggs, then dry ingredients alternately with milk.

    Grease and line a loaf pan with paper. Pour in batter and bake at 375° for about 50 minutes.

    When done, spread immediately with mixture of lemon juice and 1/2 cup sugar. Cool before slicing.
