Ingredients

  • 1 c. dried lentils
  • 1/2 c. brown rice
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 c. whole wheat bread crumbs (slices)
  • 1/2 c. wheat germ
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt or seed
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Combine lentils, salt, water and rice; bring to boil.

    Lower heat.

    Cover, then simmer until tender, about 35 minutes.

    Remove; let stand 10 minutes.

    Wash with water.

    Stir in bread crumbs, wheat germ, onion, celery seed, etc.

    Shape into patties; roll in the wheat germ.

    Fry slowly in well-oiled pan for 10 minutes. These are delicious.
