Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- approximately 6 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- approximately 2 c. lukewarm water
Directions
-
1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water; set aside.

2Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat well.

3Stir in 2 cups flour to which salt has been added.

4Add 2 cups lukewarm water and 4 1/2 cups flour to make a soft dough.

5Flour board and knead thoroughly.

6Set aside to rise or put in refrigerator until needed.

7Remove from refrigerator and knead again.

8Roll and cut like biscuits.

9Let rise for 4 to 5 hours.

10Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
