Ingredients

  • 4 c. dried apples or peaches
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • Fried Pie Pastry (recipe follows)
  • vegetable oil
  • sugar

Directions

    Combine apples and water in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer about 30 minutes or until tender. Cool.

    Mash slightly if necessary.

    Stir in 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
