  • 2 lb. dates, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. each: red and green candied cherries, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1/2 lb. pecans (2 c.), chopped
  • 1 lb. walnuts (4 c.), chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 eggs

    Work butter until soft and creamy.

    Add sugar gradually until smooth.

    Beat in eggs thoroughly.

    Stir in flour combination and all chopped fruit and nuts.

    Batter will be very thick.

    Spoon or shape dough, about 1 teaspoon, into round, flat sizes.

    Dough will rise a little.

    Bake at 400° approximately 10 minutes.
