- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. light Karo syrup
- 2/3 c. water
- 1 tsp. flavoring
- 1/8 tsp. food coloring
Directions

1Mix sugar, corn syrup and water.

2Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.

3Continue boiling, without stirring, until a small amount is very brittle when dropped into cold water.

4Cook slowly at end of cooking time so that the corn syrup will not discolor.

5Remove from heat.

6Add flavoring and food coloring.

7Stir only to mix.

8Drop syrup quickly from tip of spoon onto a flat, buttered surface.
