- 2 packages yeast
- 3/4 cup milk scalded
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 3 1/2 cups flour
Directions

1Soak yeast in warm water for 5 minutes.

2Pour scalded and cooled milk over 1/4 cup sugar and a pinch of salt.

3Add 1 cup flour and beat until smooth.

4Beat in shortening and eggs.

5Add 3 1/2 cups flour and mix to a soft dough.

6Turn out on lightly floured board.

7Knead for 5 minutes.

8Let rise 1/2 hour.

9Roll and let rise until very light.

10Cut into strips and fry.

11Fill with cream filling.
