  • 1/4 lb. macaroni
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp. butter
  • 6 oz. cheese, grated
  • 3/4 cup cream
  • Salt
  • Cayenne
  • Prepared mustard
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Butter

Directions

    Boil macaroni in plenty of water with salt and a dessertspoon butter, until tender.

    Strain; put back in a saucepan and add grated cheese, cream, salt, cayenne, and a little mustard.

    Stir over fire until cheese is melted.

    Have ready a buttered dish; pour in mixture.

    Cover with breadcrumbs and dots of butter; bake until brown.

    Serve hot.
