- 1 7/16 cups caster sugar
- 3 medium eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 cups self raising flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions

1Using a wooden spoon or electric whisk, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

2Lightly beat the eggs with the milk in a separate bowl.

3Gradually beat the eggs and milk into the creamed mixture, alternating with the flour

4Turn the mixture into prepared tin and level the surface.

5Bake in a preheated oven, 160 degree, gas mark 3, for 40 mins, until a skewer, insert in the center, come out cleanly

6Leave the cake in the tin for 10 mins then transfer it to a wire rack to cool
