  • 8 slices bread, trim crusts
  • 1 lb. sausage, cook, drain and crumble
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1/2 lb. sharp cheese, grated
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3/4 c. half and half cream
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • cayenne pepper to taste

Directions

    Place 4 slices of bread in casserole dish.

    Mix sausage and mustard.

    Spread over bread.

    Sprinkle 1/2 grated cheese.

    Top with other 4 slices of bread, then cheese.

    Mix eggs, milk and seasonings.

    Beat slightly and pour over casserole.

    Refrigerate overnight.
