Maple Nut Torte

Ingredients
- 1 pkg. white angel food cake mix
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans, toasted
- 1 (12 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Directions

1Bake and cool cake as directed on package.

2Remove from pan. Slice off top of cake so top is flat.

3Split cake to make 2 layers.

4(To split, mark side of cake with toothpicks and cut with long, serrated knife.)

5Place bottom layer on serving plate.

6Stir cinnamon, nutmeg, maple flavoring and pecans into whipped topping. Spread 1 1/2 cups of topping mixture over bottom layer.

7Place other layer on top.

8Frost top and side of cake with remaining topping mixture.

9Garnish with pecan halves, if desired.

10Makes 12 servings.
