Marinated Slaw

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 onion
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white vinegar
  • 3/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

Directions

    Chop cabbage as desired.

    Cut onions into thin rings.

    Toss together and set aside.

    Mix remaining ingredients and boil for 1 minute.

    Pour dressing over cabbage and onion.

    Refrigerate overnight or at least 12 hours, stirring 2 or 3 times.

    This will keep 3 weeks in glass container in refrigerator.

    Serves 8 to 10.
