- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2/3 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 (8 oz.) cans sliced mushroom, drained
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 (10 oz.) cans tomato soup
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2/3 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz. noodles
- 1/2 lb. shredded sharp cheese
Directions

1Brown meat in shortening in heavy skillet; add onion, green pepper, mushrooms and seasonings.

2Cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

3Combine with tomato soup, tomato paste, water and Worcestershire sauce.

4Cook noodles in boiling water until almost tender.

5Drain and rinse.

6In a large greased baking dish, spread half of noodles, cover with half of meat and sauce mixture and sprinkle with half of cheese.

7Repeat, using remaining ingredients.

8Bake in a moderate oven (375°) for about 45 minutes or until heated.

9Serves 10.
