Ingredients

  • 6 hard rolls
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. tomato soup
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • garlic salt

Directions

    Cut slice from top of rolls and hollow out center of each roll.

    Reserve crumbs for meat mix.

    Season softened butter with garlic salt lightly and spread on inside walls of rolls.

    Saute green pepper and onion in butter.

    Soften crumbs in tomato soup and egg.

    Mix sauteed onion and green pepper with crumb mixture; add salt and pepper.

    Add meat to these ingredients; mix well. Fill hollowed rolls with meat mixture.

    Place meat boats on buttered pan and bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
