- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 or 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. Italian-style bread crumbs
- 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onions (optional)
Directions

1Combine beef, egg, bread crumbs, onions, 1/3 cup tomato sauce, salt and pepper.

2Mix well and shape into a flat rectangle about 10 x 12-inches on a piece of wax paper.

3Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups cheese evenly over meat mixture.

4Starting with shortest end, roll up jelly roll fashion and press ends of roll to seal.

5Bake in a shallow baking pan for 1 hour at 350°.

6Drain of excess fat.

7Pour remaining sauce over roll.

8Garnish with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake additional 5 minutes or until cheese starts to melt.
