  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 1/2 c. chopped shallots
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • about 5 oz. French bread
  • 1 or more cans Dawn Fresh mushroom steak sauce
  • red pepper
  • black pepper
  • salt (I use 3 chicken bouillon cubes instead)

    Brown meats.

    Add onions, green pepper and celery.

    Cook down. Add garlic, shallots and parsley.

    Cook down.

    Soak French bread with only enough water to dampen.

    Using hands, break up bread. Add 1 can steak sauce to pot.

    Add bread.

    Add peppers and salt (or bouillon cubes, dissolved in only small amount of water or crushed).

    Stir.

    If bread shows, use 2 pronged fork to break up. If too dry, add more sauce.
