Ingredients

  • 1lb extra-lean ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1/2 cup crushed saltine crackers
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tblspn ground flaxseed or whey protein
  • 1 jar tomato sauce (I cheat and use spaghetti sauce)
  • whole wheat hoagie rolls
  • 1/2 cup reduced fat shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Mix together beef, crackers, flaxseed, onion and garlic. Roll into golf ball size meatballs and brown in skillet. Be careful when turning so that they do not break apart.

    Add sauce to pan and set to low. Let simmer

    Serve in hoagie rolls and top with shredded cheese
