Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1 tsp. minced fresh garlic
  • 2 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 thin slices bread
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 lb. ground beef or ground round
  • 1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese

Directions

    In a 10-inch skillet (nonstick), brown onion and garlic in oil over moderately high heat for 2 minutes.

    Remove from heat. Combine bread and mix with water in a large bowl.

    Add beef, onion and garlic (don't wash skillet), parsley, salt, pepper, oregano and Parmesan cheese.

    Stir in eggs and mix with a wooden spoon until well blended.

    Shape into meatballs.

    Brown on all sides in skillet onion was cooked in, about 15 minutes.

    Then place in spaghetti sauce and simmer.
