Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck (85%)
  • 1/2 c. soft breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. skim milk
  • 1 tsp. low-sodium Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
  • vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 c. red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c. low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. peeled, minced ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder

Directions

    Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl and stir well. Shape mixture into 42 (1-inch) meatballs.

    Arrange meatballs on rack of a broiler pan, coated with cooking spray.

    Broil 5 1/2-inches from heat for 10 minutes or until browned, turning frequently.
