Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef round
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 medium sized potatoes, cut in quarters
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 c. water
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper

    Slice beef in serving pieces and brown in cooking oil.

    Set aside.

    In another pan, saute the garlic, onion and then tomato sauce.

    Add meat; cover and cook slowly on low heat, about 20 minutes.

    Add the lemon juice, soy sauce, peppercorns, potatoes, bay leaf and salt.

    Continue to cook a few more minutes, until the meat is tender.
