- 2 Tbsp. butter/margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. white pepper
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Melt butter or margarine in pan over low heat.

2Blend in flour and pepper. Add milk all at once, stirring constantly and cook on high until sauce thickens and bubbles.

3Stir constantly.

4Remove from heat.

5If you cook it too much, the butter will separate and it will be too thick.

6To correct this, just add a little more milk and cook quickly, stirring constantly until it bubbles.
