  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 6 level Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

    Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff.

    Add sugar one tablespoon at a time.

    Add vanilla and beat until peaks stand up.

    (Do not underbeat.)

    Cover pie well and brown in a 350° oven, approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
