- 1 12 tablespoons cornstarch
- 13 cup cold water
- 3 egg whites
- 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
Directions

1Blend cornstarch and cold water in small saucepan.

2Bring to a boil; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear.

3Set aside to cool.

4In mixer bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.

5Gradually add sugar and beat until peaks are stiff, but not dry.

6Gradually beat in the cornstarch mixture, vanilla and pinch of salt until blended and peaks are stiff.

7Spread over pie filling, sealing to edges.

8Brown in 325 degree oven for 20 minutes or until peaks are browned.

9Enough for one 9 inch pie.
