- 1 c. butter (softened at room temperature)
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 c. flour, sifted with 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sour cream
- 6 eggs (at room temperature)
- 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
Directions

1Thoroughly cream butter and sugar.

2Add extracts.

3Add eggs, one at a time.

4Beat well.

5On low speed, stir in the sifted flour and soda mixture.

6Add sour cream and stir to combine.

7Using a tube pan or three loaf pans, cut wax paper to fit the bottom of pan or pans.

8Spray pans well with cooking oil and line with paper.

9Place the cake in the middle of the oven with a pan of hot water on the bottom rack of oven, which should be heated to 300°. Bake until cake tests done, about 1 1/2 hours or a little longer, about 1 hour and 15 minutes for loaf pans.
