- 1 c. yellow corn meal
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/3 c. onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. green pepper, chopped
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 (8 3/4 oz.) can creamed corn
- 2 Tbsp. hot banana peppers, chopped
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, combine corn meal, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

2In a second bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Add to dry ingredients and stir only enough to moisten.

3Pour into greased 9-inch square baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and tests done.
