  • 2 lb. ground meat, fried and drained
  • 1 c. corn meal
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 can cream-style corn
  • 1 large onion, grated
  • 18 oz. pkg. sharp grated cheese
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 jalapeno peppers

    Brown meat and drain.

    Mix all other ingredients together. Pour 1/2 of mixture in heavy iron 10-inch skillet, then pour meat, then rest of batter.

    Bake at 350° about 1 hour until golden brown.
