  • 1 c. corn meal
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. cream-style corn
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 small can green chili peppers
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1 c. grated sharp cheese

Directions

    Drain and chop chilies.

    Mix other ingredients, except cheese, and pour 1/2 of the mixture into a hot skillet.

    Sprinkle cheese and green chilies over it.

    Pour the remaining mixture over it and bake in 375° oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
