- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Thoroughly grease a 9 or 10 inch tube pan.

3Heat the milk and butter together in a saucepan until the butter is melted and the mixture is lukewarm.

4In a large bowl, beat the eggs until foamy.

5Add the sugar gradually, as you beat, and beat until light and fluffy.

6Add the milk-butter mixture.

7Add the flour and beat well, and then beat in the vanilla and salt.

8Last of all, beat in the baking powder.

9Pour and scrape the batter into the pan.

10Bake 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
