- 3 oz. butter
- 6 oz. self-rising flour (or plain flour and baking powder)
- 3 oz. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. mixed spices
- mincemeat
- sugar
Directions

1Rub butter into flour until it is like bread crumbs.

2Stir in sugar and spice.

3Press half of mixture into a 7-inch cake tin. Spread mincemeat sparingly over and cover remaining mixture of flour.

4Press down gently but firmly.

5Bake 30 minutes at 400° until light brown.

6Sprinkle with sugar.

7Cut while still warm. Use hot or cold.

8Freezes well.
