Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. light Karo (corn syrup)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 marshmallows
  • 1 tsp. essence of peppermint
  • 3 heaping c. pecan halves or walnuts

Directions

    Slowly cook sugar, water, corn syrup and salt.

    Remove from heat just before syrup reaches soft ball stage.

    Add marshmallows; stir until melted.
  4. 4
    Add peppermint and nuts; stir with a circular motion until every nut is coated and mixture begins to look creamy.

    Empty on waxed paper; cool, then separate.

    May be stored in cans for weeks!
