Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 5 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/4 c. white syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    In a 6-quart saucepan, place first five ingredients.

    Mix over medium flame until Crisco melts.

    Raise heat to high and bring to a fast rolling boil, stirring occasionally.

    Time 1 minute. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

    Stir or beat until thickened. Add chopped pecans and stir.

    Pour quickly onto lightly buttered shallow dish.

    When set completely, cut into squares and top with a pecan half.
