- 3 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 5 c. self-rising flour, unsifted
- 2 c. lukewarm buttermilk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 7 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; set aside.

2Mix flour, sugar and soda.

3Cut in shortening.

4Add yeast and buttermilk; mix. Place desired amount of dough on floured cloth.

5Pat out.

6Cut with a biscuit cutter.

7Let warm to room temperature, about 1 hour.

8Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350°.

9Place remaining dough in fridge for future use.

10Will keep 8 to 10 days.
