Mixed Vegetables Eggrolls

Ingredients

  • 1 c. carrots, shredded
  • 1 c. cabbage, cut in 1/2-inch squares
  • 1 c. celery
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 lb. ground beef or pork
  • 1 medium onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp. oil
  • 35 to 40 lumpia or pastry wrappers
  • 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate (if desired)

Directions

    Brown garlic in hot oil; add onion.

    Saute until transparent. Add ground pork or beef.

    Season with soy sauce, pepper, salt and monosodium glutamate (if desired).

    Stir until meat is tender. Add first 5 ingredients; keep on stirring until vegetables are tender but firm.

    Remove from fire.

    Drain remaining broth.

    Let cool and set aside.
