  • 1 lb. raw peeled md. shrimp
  • 1-1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp. mustard (the ballpark yellow kind)
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1-1/3 tbsp. minced onion
  • 4 oz. Modelo Especial beer (about 1/3 bottle; allow to go flat)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3/4 cup dried breadcrumbs (like Progresso, etc.)
  • 1 cup vegetable oil

Directions

    In a bowl, combine the shrimp with Worcestershire Sauce, mustard, lemon juice, garlic and onion; allow to sit for about 30 minutes.

    Drain in a colander or strainer for another 30 minutes or so.

    Combine the beaten egg yolk with the beer.

    Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet.

    Dredge the shrimps in the egg-beer mixture, then in the breadcrumbs.

    Fry in the hot oil until browned and shrimp are cooked through, turning once (it should only take a couple of minutes per side).

    Don't crowd them; you might need to do this in two batches.
