- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 bananas, mashed
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

1Preheat oven to 325°F.

3Cream the butter and sugar thoroughly.

4Add the bananas, eggs and vanilla; beat well.

6Stir flour mixture into the banana mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.

10Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
