  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 c. Brer Rabbit molasses
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar and butter with pastry blender until crumbly; save 1 cup for topping.

    Add rest of ingredients.

    Keep reserved crumbs; mix the rest.

    It will be runny and thin.

    Pour into greased pans; sprinkle with crumbs.

    Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until it tests done with toothpick.

    The cake will stay in the pan; it sticks.

    Cut into sections and it can be gotten out nicely.
